About the Photographer

I am Rachel George Cleveland, an Auburn, Alabama-based photographer working primarily with water, wildlife, and travel.

My work is informed by years spent underwater, teaching and leading dive travel, and by a background that values patience, technical precision, and attention to environment. I’m drawn to subjects that reward stillness—animals, water, and places that reveal themselves slowly.

Before focusing fully on photography, I worked across design-build, writing, and travel-based disciplines, experiences that continue to shape how I see structure, narrative, movement, and light. That history informs both how I approach my subjects and how I think about photographs as finished objects.
